Dagestan The Republic of Dagestan is strengthening its tourism potential: 17 tour guides have been included in the federal register, the Ministry of Tourism and Folk Arts and Crafts of the Republic of Dagestan reported.

Every year the interest in Dagestan is growing rapidly. Tourists from all over Russia and abroad are attracted by majestic mountains, ancient fortresses, unique culture of the republic’s peoples and sincere hospitality of its inhabitants. To ensure that each visit leaves not only aesthetic impressions, but also a deep understanding of the rich history and traditions, the republic is working systematically to train qualified tour guides. One of the key stages of this work is certification and their inclusion in the federal register.

From May 12 to May 14, Makhachkala hosted the next certification of tour guides (guides) wishing to confirm their qualifications and receive official status. The candidates passed an exam on knowledge of history, geography, cultural heritage of Dagestan, as well as demonstrated skills in conducting excursions.

As a result of the certification, 17 applicants successfully passed all the tests and were included in the federal register of tour guides. Thus, the total number of registered specialists from Dagestan reached 221 people – this is an important step towards improving the quality of tourist services in the republic.

The next opportunity to pass the certification is from June 17 to 19.
